Lionel Messi makes a surprise cameo appearance in the latest trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ starring Tom Holland. In the promotional clip, Peter Parker encounters the Argentine football superstar in a café and recognizes him. When asked why he’s there, Messi responds simply that he’s “here for Spider-Man” while displaying his phone to the camera. The trailer was strategically released during the FIFA World Cup’s knockout stage, capitalizing on the tournament’s global viewership to promote the upcoming film. The collaboration represents an unusual crossover between professional sports and superhero entertainment, leveraging Messi’s status as one of the world’s most recognizable athletes to generate buzz for the movie. Such celebrity cameos in promotional materials have become an increasingly common marketing tactic for major studio releases.
