Pokémon reveals new cards & products for TCG 30th anniversary expansion
The Pokémon Company has unveiled the complete lineup of Trading Card Game products for the franchise’s 30th anniversary expansion, launching on September 16th. The release includes Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles, and a premium Ultra Premium box, with many offerings featuring exclusive promotional cards designed to entice collectors.
A central highlight of the anniversary set is the inclusion of 30 distinct Pikachu cards celebrating the iconic mascot’s franchise legacy. The expansion also introduces six unique holofoil cards representing a new rarity classification called “Future rare,” distinguished by a platinum-like finish that sets them apart from standard cards.
Mew and Mewtwo are positioned as the primary chase cards drawing collector interest. However, the set offers broad appeal across multiple beloved Pokémon, featuring cards dedicated to Eevee and its evolutionary forms, along with Ditto and other fan favorites. The anniversary expansion represents a significant milestone for the Pokémon TCG, which has experienced substantial growth in recent years, combining nostalgic elements with innovative card designs and rarity types to create a must-have release.
