Valve doesn’t currently have ‘any specific plans’ for more Steam Machine faceplates, so you’ll have to make them yourself
Valve has confirmed it currently has no specific plans to release additional faceplates for the Steam Machine beyond the two included with the 2TB SKU. Valve engineers Yazan Aldehayyat and Pierre-Loup Griffais stated that the existing plates bundled with the device represent the company’s current offering, with no concrete roadmap for future designs.
The interchangeable faceplates were a highlighted feature during the Steam Machine’s initial reveal, generating significant interest among users drawn to hardware customization and aesthetic personalization. The modular design was positioned as a key differentiator for Valve’s compact gaming device.
With no official plans for additional faceplate variants, users seeking further customization options will need to turn to DIY solutions and community-driven alternatives. This leaves the door open for enthusiasts to create their own custom designs, whether through 3D printing, modification, or other fabrication methods.
