Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 and its killer fight sequences head to Netflix
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, subtitled The Culling Game Part 1, will premiere on Netflix on July 22. The anime series’ first two seasons and prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are already available on the streaming platform.
The third season aired from January to March with 12 episodes and has been well-received by fans and critics. Studio MAPPA’s latest installment marks a significant improvement in animation consistency compared to the previous season. Season 2’s adaptation of the Shibuya Incident arc received mixed reactions from viewers, with standout episodes like “Red Scale” (Episode 37) punctuated by noticeable drops in animation quality that even the production staff acknowledged.
Season 3 maintains a more uniform visual quality throughout while also improving character development. The season gives greater focus to supporting characters, with public defender Hiromi Higuruma emerging as one of the show’s most compelling figures. This character-focused approach complements the action-heavy nature of the Culling Game arc.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular battle shonen series that has developed a substantial fanbase. The show’s combination of intense fight choreography and character-driven storytelling has made it a flagship title for anime fans. Netflix’s acquisition of the third season continues the platform’s strategy of securing major anime properties, making the show accessible to its global subscriber base.
