Another KPop Demon Hunters-inspired video game just got announced
Microids and Old Skull Games have announced K-Pop Rising – Dream To Shine, a new rhythm game set to launch in November across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC. The game comes at a time of heightened interest in K-pop-themed gaming experiences, following the success of K-Pop Demon Hunters and the extended wait for its sequel, which isn’t expected until 2029 at the earliest.
The game centers on the journey of an aspiring K-pop musician climbing the ranks of the competitive music industry. Players have extensive customization options for their main character, including outfits and makeup choices, and can recruit members to form and manage their own group.
Gameplay combines traditional rhythm game mechanics with singing and choreography elements, creating a multifaceted musical experience. This approach aligns with the growing trend of K-pop-inspired games filling the gap left by major franchise delays, similar to titles like Kemuri that have emerged to capture audience interest in the genre.
