Kepler Interactive acquires stake in indie publisher Oro Interactive from venture capital firm

Kepler Interactive has acquired a stake in Belgian indie game publisher Oro Interactive from venture capital firm ForsVC for an undisclosed amount. This represents ForsVC’s first exit as a venture capital firm, delivering a remarkable sevenfold return on investment in less than two years.

Following the acquisition, Oro Interactive will maintain its independent operations, with Kepler Interactive becoming its primary investor going forward. Both companies opted to keep the specific purchase price confidential, focusing instead on their continued partnership and shared vision.

The CEO of Oro Interactive, Sam De Boeck, expressed his appreciation for ForsVC’s support, stating: “ForsVC believed in Oro’s vision from the very beginning, and that trust gave us enormous strength and allowed us to focus fully on what we needed to do.” This statement underscores the importance of early-stage backing in helping indie publishers achieve their goals.

The deal highlights the ongoing consolidation within the indie game publishing sector, as larger publishers and investment firms increasingly seek to expand their portfolios with successful independent studios. Kepler Interactive’s investment demonstrates confidence in Oro Interactive’s business model and future prospects, while ForsVC’s substantial return reflects the growing value of the indie publishing space.
