Relic announce a new Company of Heroes RTS, a wave defence roguelite for strategy buffs who don’t have time to fight a whole World War
Relic Entertainment has announced Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, a standalone wave-defence roguelite spin-off of the acclaimed World War II RTS Company of Heroes 3. Rather than following the traditional real-time strategy format of the base game, Final Stand focuses on defensive wave-based combat where players must survive 12 rounds of progressively challenging enemy assaults while expanding and upgrading a custom battlegroup.
The game is positioned as an accessible, snackable alternative for strategy fans seeking shorter play sessions without the time commitment of a full RTS campaign. Designed to be newbie-friendly while maintaining strategic depth, Final Stand captures the tactical essence of Company of Heroes 3 in a condensed format often described as “World War II on its summer holiday.”
Relic has prior experience with wave-defence mechanics, having previously implemented similar systems in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War titles. Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand supports two-player cooperative play, allowing friends to tackle waves together. The game launches in July and aims to broaden the Company of Heroes audience beyond hardcore strategy enthusiasts to players seeking engaging tactical gameplay.
