Intel quietly bumps the price up of the best CPUs it’s made in years to ‘reflect current market dynamics’
Intel has quietly increased the recommended retail prices for its Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus processors, as well as their iGPU-free F-variant models. The 270K Plus now carries a recommended price of $339–$349, while the 250K Plus sits at $219–$229, representing increases of at least $40 and $20 respectively—translating to roughly 13% and 10% price hikes. The company attributed the adjustment to the need to “reflect current market dynamics.”
The price increases target some of Intel’s strongest processors in recent years. As PC gaming components continue experiencing cost pressures across the industry, these hikes add to the mounting expenses facing PC builders and enthusiasts considering system upgrades or new builds. Intel’s decision to raise prices on its latest generation processors suggests the company is optimizing pricing on well-received products while managing market conditions and demand dynamics. The move reflects broader industry trends of manufacturers testing pricing power and capitalizing on strong product reception, even as component costs continue climbing for consumers across the gaming and enthusiast PC markets.
