One of the best sci-fi strategy games of 2004 is free in GOG’s Summer Sale

“Nexus: The Jupiter Incident,” a well-regarded sci-fi strategy game from 2004, is available for free on GOG (Good Old Games) until July 6 as part of the platform’s Summer Sale.

The game is a tactical fleet simulator featuring real-time combat in a space setting. Despite its age, it maintains a strong reputation—PC Gamer magazine awarded it an 83% review score in April 2005 according to Metacritic.

Set 60 years after the catastrophe of Noah’s Ark, humanity’s first colony ship, the game’s narrative centers on an uneasy peace between the megacorporations that rule the solar system. The free offering provides an opportunity for players to experience a classic title from the early 2000s strategy gaming era.
