Remember your Paradox account? No? Well you might want to look into that because it could be deleted next year

Paradox Interactive announced that it will delete all inactive player accounts starting in March 2027. The Swedish publisher declared the action a database “maintenance event” designed to improve system performance, reduce clutter, and streamline its infrastructure. Accounts that have not logged in since September 2025 will be subject to deletion.

The announcement was made through a forum thread and social media post by Paradox staff, with an account moderator named Elmaze providing details about the decision. According to the posts, this account cleanup helps the company maintain optimal platform performance and keep its database infrastructure efficient.

Paradox Interactive, best known for publishing grand strategy games laden with expansive DLC libraries, is giving players approximately nine months—until March 2027—to log in to their accounts and keep them active. Players with accounts that have been inactive since September 2025 should take action soon to avoid losing access to their profiles and associated games or content.

This maintenance approach is common among online gaming platforms and services as they seek to optimize database performance and user management, though it requires inactive players to reactivate their accounts to maintain access to their games and communities.
