Futurama, Ren & Stimpy’s hidden talent Billy West talks his very personal new memoir
Billy West, one of animation’s most prolific voice actors, is releasing a new personal memoir. West’s career has spanned multiple generations, beginning in the late 1980s when he was a regular on The Howard Stern Show while simultaneously breaking into voice acting. By 1991, he had already become a Nickelodeon star, voicing the titular character in Doug and Stimpy in Ren & Stimpy.
West is perhaps best known for his work on Futurama, where he has voiced multiple iconic characters including Fry, Dr. Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth, and Zapp Brannigan since 1999. Beyond these flagship roles, his filmography includes hundreds of characters across dozens of animated series throughout the 1990s and beyond. His range extended to live-action film work, including voicing Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in the original Space Jam.
