Pokémon Go ‘10th Anniversary Party’ event guide
Pokémon Go is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special event running from July 4-6, featuring increased shiny rates and several costumed Pokémon returns. The event includes significant bonuses for catching Pokémon and other perks designed to enhance player progression during the celebration window.
Shiny Gimmighoul is returning as part of the festivities, available from July 4 at 10 a.m. until July 31 at 11:59 p.m. in each player’s local time. During the event period, Gimmighoul will appear in a special “10th Anniversary Coin” costume, which is expected to be exclusive to this limited-time celebration.
The anniversary event coincides with Sobble Community Day on July 4, running from 2-5 p.m. local time. Players can combine the anniversary event bonuses with Sobble Community Day benefits to maximize their gameplay during this overlap period. The event also features paid Timed Research options for players seeking additional content and rewards.
The 10th Anniversary Party event highlights Pokémon Go’s ongoing live-service model, which uses time-limited seasonal events as a core mechanic for maintaining player engagement. By stacking multiple events—the anniversary celebration, Gimmighoul’s return, and the Sobble Community Day—Niantic creates overlapping periods of heightened player activity and spending opportunities.
