Danganronpa 2x2 delayed to 2027
Spike Chunsoft has announced that Danganronpa 2x2, the remaster of the visual novel sequel Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, will be delayed to early 2027. Producer Shohei Sakakibara revealed in a statement that while development had been progressing toward the originally planned 2026 release, the decision was made to move the launch to early 2027 to deliver “the best possible experience” to players.
The remaster will introduce significant new content and features. Most notably, it will include “Slayhem,” an alternate story mode that offers players a different narrative experience than the original game, eliminating the need to replay the same storyline. The remaster also features a 3D world map and will contain approximately 20% additional content compared to the original release.
A more specific release date within the early 2027 timeframe is expected to be announced at a later time. Spike Chunsoft has thanked fans for their patience as development continues and has committed to sharing further updates in the future.
