LEGO Announces E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Figure That’s Roughly Quarter Life Size
LEGO has announced a new buildable E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial figure set based on Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1982 film. The set, officially designated LEGO 21370, will launch on August 1 with a retail price of $139.99 USD (£119.99 GBP). Pre-orders are now available through LEGO.com.
The set comprises 1,226 pieces and creates a figure standing 24cm tall with a width of 21cm and depth of 15cm—approximately one-quarter the life-size of the film’s E.T., who is depicted as roughly one meter in height. The model features fully poseable head and hands to recreate E.T.’s instantly iconic “phone home” gesture. Notable features include a light-up brick embedded in the chest cavity that glows red to represent E.T.’s glowing heart, a pivotal element from the film. The set also includes a buildable potted sunflower plant, a nostalgic reference to the original movie. While the figure’s hands are articulated, notably E.T.’s iconic pointing finger cannot light up despite the inclusion of the illuminated chest brick.
