Pokémon Pitch Black fan pulls world’s first ever gold god pack

A young Pokémon Trading Card Game collector in Alberta, Canada has reportedly pulled the world’s first-ever “gold god pack” from the Pitch Black set—a collection of 10 golden Pokémon cards within a single booster pack.

The achievement has drawn significant skepticism from the community, with many initially dismissing the accompanying photo from a local card shop as AI-generated or photoshopped. However, pulling extremely rare cards is technically possible, though extraordinarily unlikely.

The golden cards are classified as “Mega Hyper Rare” cards, representing some of the lowest pull rates in the Pokémon TCG. In the recent Perfect Order set, the estimated pull rate for a single golden card is approximately 1 in 1,786 packs, or 0.06% per booster.

While full-art Pokémon cards appear regularly in online unboxing videos, golden card pulls remain exceptionally uncommon. The odds of pulling even one such card are minuscule; pulling ten in a single pack represents an event so improbable that many collectors remain unconvinced without comprehensive verification.

The local card shop has shared photographic documentation of the pull, though full verification details remain limited in publicly available reports.
