Critical Role unveils the bone-chilling Age of Umbra: Sallowlands trailer
Critical Role has unveiled the official trailer for Age of Umbra: Sallowlands, an upcoming gothic-themed tabletop RPG miniseries continuing the studio’s popular Age of Umbra franchise. The bone-chilling trailer, revealed exclusively to Polygon, maintains the dark, atmospheric tone that defined previous entries in the series.
The miniseries features five adventurers portrayed by an ensemble cast including Critical Role co-founder Laura Bailey, along with Jennifer English, Abubakar Salim, Vico Ortiz, and Zachery Renauldo. The characters—Sister; Dillwyn and her companion Badger; Caguama; Alphonse; and Mercy—were first introduced in mid-June ahead of the trailer announcement.
Matthew Mercer, who stepped back from his role as Dungeon Master during Critical Role’s ongoing Campaign 4, is returning to guide the new miniseries using the Daggerheart system. This marks a significant reunion for the organization, bringing Mercer back to lead an immersive storytelling experience that promises to captivate audiences with the same quality that made the previous Age of Umbra series a critical success.
