Marvel Rivals Season 9 Reveal Premiere: Start Time, Date & How to Watch
Marvel Rivals Season 9 was officially revealed during a livestream premiere on July 7, introducing significant changes to the hero shooter’s gameplay. The season launches July 10 and marks a departure from typical seasonal promotions through its dedicated premiere broadcast.
The headline addition is Jubilee from the X-Men, debuting as a Strategist (support) character. Despite her pyrotechnic mutant abilities typically suiting a damage role, NetEase has implemented her as a healer with machine-gun-style burst fire that simultaneously deals damage and heals teammates. Her Ultimate ability provides additional utility through pulsing healing waves that knock back enemies.
Alongside the new character, Black Widow is receiving a major overhaul as a Duelist, providing significant changes to an existing hero in the roster.
The most substantial update comes through a complete redesign of the Team-Up system, previously built around pairing specific heroes together. The reworked system now grants every character access to two unique Team-Ups, each offering distinct abilities that strengthen when the matching hero appears on the team. This fundamental change affects all playable characters and represents one of Season 9’s most impactful modifications.
Season 9 also features new maps and story content. NetEase’s decision to premiere the season through a dedicated livestream signals a new promotional strategy for Marvel Rivals’ seasonal updates, generating considerable anticipation about the studio’s future content reveals.
