‘It’s A Franchise We Love’ - Toys For Bob Keen To Work With Xbox On Banjo-Kazooie Game

Toys for Bob has expressed interest in developing a new Banjo-Kazooie game, according to studio leadership. Associate Creative Director Louis Studdert and Studio Head Paul Yan discussed the possibility on a recent Kinda Funny Games podcast episode.

The developer is currently working on Spyro: A Realm Reborn, coming to Xbox Series X|S in spring 2027. Toys for Bob has established itself as a trusted steward of classic platformer franchises, having previously developed Crash Bandicoot 4 and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

While no official announcement has been made regarding a new Banjo-Kazooie project, the studio’s enthusiasm suggests openness to the opportunity if licensing and development circumstances align. The franchise, originally developed by Rare and historically associated with Nintendo, has remained largely dormant.
