Rumble Arcade maker Tribo Games is closing
Tribo Games, a four-year-old independent studio, has announced its closure. CEO and cofounder Mika Kuusisto broke the news on LinkedIn, thanking the company’s co-founders, employees, and investors including Play Ventures, SISU, and King co-founder Sebastian Knutsson.
The studio operated on a remote-first basis with 2-10 employees distributed across Europe, primarily Finland and Spain. The team comprised veteran developers from major studios including King, Rovio, PopCap, and Wooga, with a collective track record of shipping over 50 games.
Tribo Games developed Rumble Arcade, a pay-to-earn, NFT-based battler game that launched as a browser title. Despite years of operation, the game never received an official release on iOS or Android app stores, remaining accessible only through browsers. The announcement referenced the game’s servers, suggesting ongoing operations at the time of the closure notice.
