Xbox Game Pass New Games For July Revealed

Xbox announced the first wave of games coming to Game Pass in July 2026, adding approximately 10-11 titles between July 9-21. Notable additions include Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Gears of War: Reloaded, and Planet Crafter, with Winds of Arcana: Ruination launching as a day-one release on July 6. Halo: Campaign Evolved is expected later in the month. However, subscribers will lose 10 games from the service on July 15, including Dungeons of Hinterberg.

The announcement arrives amid significant challenges for Xbox. The company announced that 3,200 employees will be laid off—1,600 immediately and another 1,600 over the next 12 months—with four studios departing Microsoft as part of what CEO Asha Sharma called “the most significant restructure in Xbox history.”

Sharma explicitly acknowledged that Microsoft’s gaming strategy has failed, with Game Pass identified as a key failure point. The service currently has approximately 30 million subscribers, far below Microsoft’s projection of 77 million by July 2026 and well short of the 100 million target previously disclosed during the 2023 FTC trial. The significant subscriber shortfall has forced Microsoft to reassess its gaming and subscription strategy.

Despite the broader business turmoil, Microsoft continues rotating Game Pass content with regular monthly updates, suggesting the company remains committed to the subscription service even as it undergoes substantial restructuring.
