Arkheron, a competitive PvPvE action RPG, will open its closed beta next week—and I’m getting that Battlerite nostalgia just looking at this thing

Arkheron, an isometric competitive action RPG, is entering closed beta next week, following its exclusive showcase at the PC Gaming Show in June. The game combines PvPvE (player-versus-player-versus-environment) gameplay with squad-based mechanics in a battle royale-inspired format.

The game is structured around climbing a tower set in the afterlife, with players competing in teams of three. Each match consists of two main segments: exploration and looting floors where squads fight enemies and gather resources, followed by showdown arenas that pit players directly against one another. This hybrid approach merges cooperative PvE progression with competitive PvP combat.

The showdown arenas have drawn comparisons to Battlerite, the beloved competitive action game, capturing a similar fast-paced, skill-focused combat aesthetic that many players have been seeking since Battlerite’s decline. The isometric perspective and squad-based gameplay differentiate Arkheron from traditional battle royales, offering a more intimate, ability-focused experience.

The closed beta represents a significant milestone for the title, giving players their first opportunity to experience the game’s blend of mechanics. Details about closed beta access and duration are available on the game’s Steam page.
