Marvel Rivals Season 9 Roadmap Revealed
Marvel Rivals Season 9 launches on July 10 with what NetEase is calling the “most massive overhaul to the combat system since launch,” affecting roughly 80% of the hero roster. The season introduces Jubilee as a new Strategist character and a comprehensive rework of Black Widow, while fundamentally restructuring the Team-Up system that has defined the game’s hero interactions.
The centerpiece of Season 9 is the Team-Up overhaul, where every character will receive two distinct Team-Up abilities instead of the previous system. A significant quality-of-life change allows players to benefit from Team-Up upgrades even when their Team-Up partner isn’t actively on the team, expanding tactical flexibility. The update also includes substantial ultimate ability charge nerfs alongside widespread buffs and adjustments across the roster.
Additional content includes a new map and game mode, with the season lasting four weeks. The overhaul addresses player frustrations with recent balance issues, including overpowered Strategist heroes and excessive ultimate ability contests that staled the meta. By prioritizing gameplay enjoyment alongside competitive balance, NetEase aims to refresh the game’s state and deliver one of its most transformative updates.
