Mortal Shell 2 Release Date & Revered Edition Revealed

Mortal Shell 2, the soulslike sequel from Cold Symmetry, has been officially confirmed to launch on August 20, 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The announcement includes the reveal of multiple edition options, allowing players to choose their preferred version at launch.

The base version will retail for £44.99/$49.99. For players wanting additional content, the Devout Edition offers three days of early access plus an exclusive Obsidian skin set covering all eight Shells in the game, costing an additional £5/$10. A premium Revered Edition was also announced alongside the Devout Edition. Pre-orders are now live across all platforms.

The August release date strategically positions the game ahead of the traditionally crowded September release window. This timing decision reflects the industry-wide trend of publishers attempting to avoid competition with major anticipated releases, particularly Grand Theft Auto 6’s significant market impact on the fall release schedule. By launching in late August, Mortal Shell 2 aims to capture players’ attention before the September surge of major game releases.
