Palworld developer Pocketpair decides not to raise the open-world survival game’s price tag as it nears a 1.0 launch later this week
Palworld developer Pocketpair has announced it will maintain the game’s $29.99 price point as it officially launches version 1.0 on July 10th. The game, which entered early access in January 2024, had previously indicated on its Steam store page that pricing could increase upon full release—a standard industry practice for early access titles transitioning to version 1.0.
Pocketpair confirmed the decision to forgo a price increase in a social media statement, describing the move as “a small way of saying thank you” to the game’s player base. The developer reflected on the game’s success, noting it has become “a success beyond our wildest dreams” thanks to community support throughout its extended early access period.
The decision is notable in an industry where developers typically raise prices upon full launch to reflect a completed product. Pocketpair’s choice to maintain current pricing appears motivated by gratitude toward players who supported the game’s development. Palworld has achieved significant commercial success since its January 2024 launch, with millions of players drawn to its distinctive blend of creature collection and survival gameplay.
