The Hunger Games movies are coming back to theaters ahead of Sunrise on the Reaping
The entire Hunger Games film series will return to theaters for a limited theatrical re-release ahead of the November 2026 debut of Sunrise on the Reaping. Fathom Events is organizing the special engagement, which will span five consecutive days in early September.
The theatrical marathon will take place September 3-7, 2026, with each film screening for exactly one day. The schedule follows the original release order: The Hunger Games on September 3rd, followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Sept. 4), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 (Sept. 5), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 (Sept. 6), and concluding with The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (Sept. 7).
The placement of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes at the end of the five-day run has drawn some fan commentary, as the film serves as a prequel chronologically set before the original trilogy and its debut film, suggesting it might have been more logically positioned first in the theatrical sequence.
This limited re-release offers fans the opportunity to revisit the sci-fi franchise on the big screen before the newest installment arrives. The restricted availability through Fathom Events ensures the screenings will have limited duration and theater availability.
