Mouse: P.I. For Hire Gets Massive Switch 2 Update With New 40fps Mode

Mouse: P.I. For Hire, the black-and-white indie game, has received substantial updates across multiple platforms. The game received version 1.2.0 on Nintendo Switch 2 and version 1.2.1 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, each bringing significant improvements and new features.

The updates introduce several performance enhancements, including uncapped Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for compatible devices, which should provide smoother gameplay on supported hardware. Nintendo Switch 2 owners also gain access to a new “balanced” 40fps mode option. The Xbox and PlayStation versions include a level revisiting feature, allowing players to replay previously completed levels—a notable quality-of-life addition.

Beyond these headline features, all platform versions address substantial numbers of bug fixes and stability improvements. The developers described the updates as among the largest the game has received to date, with patch notes spanning numerous gameplay refinements and technical corrections. The coordinated rollout across console platforms suggests developer Fumi Games’ commitment to maintaining feature parity and performance standards across different systems while accommodating platform-specific capabilities.
