Palworld Won’t Raise Its Price Following 1.0 Launch

Palworld has officially launched version 1.0 following over two years in early access, with developer Pocketpair announcing it will maintain the game’s $29.99 price point rather than increasing it at full release—a decision increasingly uncommon in the industry.

Many early access titles historically launch at a reduced price to attract players, with developers then raising the price upon exiting early access. Pocketpair is bucking this trend, positioning the price retention as a gesture of appreciation to the game’s player base. “After much thought, we have decided not to raise the price of Palworld following the 1.0 release and will keep it at $29.99,” the developer stated. “We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams.”

The decision reflects the game’s massive commercial success, which exceeded the developers’ expectations. The 1.0 launch is accompanied by substantial patch notes spanning 27 pages, indicating significant content and balance updates for the survival and crafting game. The full release is coming to PC and console platforms.

By maintaining the entry price, Pocketpair is taking an unusual stance in the current gaming landscape, where price increases at launch are common practice. This approach strengthens player goodwill at a critical moment and reflects the studio’s confidence in the game’s continued appeal.
