FOMO In Battlefield 6 Gets A Small Reduction, But It’ll Cost You
Battlefield Studios has announced a significant change to its battle pass system that will reduce FOMO (fear of missing out) for cosmetic content. Beginning in Season 4, cosmetic items from previous seasonal battle passes will become available for purchase in the in-game store, giving players a second chance to obtain content they missed.
The move responds to community feedback requesting more opportunities to acquire previously-unavailable cosmetics. Items that will return include weapon skins, blueprints, operator outfits, emblems, and other cosmetics originally exclusive to past battle passes. Rather than remaining permanently unavailable, these items will cycle back into the in-game marketplace.
Battlefield Studios stated its goal is to balance ensuring players who engage with each new season enjoy fresh content and excitement, while also providing opportunities for other players to catch up on missed cosmetics. The change represents a balance between live-service engagement and community concerns, though acquiring returned cosmetics will require additional spending beyond the initial battle pass purchase.
