Guide a living landship through a deadly fungal world in Trailblazers, a roguelite colony sim inspired by Rimworld, Moebius, and Darkest Dungeon
Strangers has announced Trailblazers: Into The March, a roguelite colony sim drawing inspiration from Rimworld, FTL: Faster Than Light, and Darkest Dungeon, alongside cultural touchstones including the anime Nausicaa and works by filmmaker Andrei Tarkovski and author Jeff Vandermeer. The game tasks players with guiding a crustaceous living landship through a vibrant, fungal wilderness.
A distinctive mechanic differentiates Trailblazers: the ship’s primary fuel source is a living organism that requires active care and management. Players must maintain their biological fuel supply’s satisfaction to prevent catastrophic failures, including cordyceps spore contamination. This living symbiosis adds depth to traditional colony management, blending survival mechanics with the need to nurture a relationship between crew and their ship’s biological core.
The game emphasizes visual aesthetics with vivid colors and intricate creature design featuring fungal and coral-inspired imagery. Strangers is currently accepting playtest access requests, inviting players to experience and provide feedback ahead of full release. The team has been documenting development progress through a series of developer blogs.
