Steam has raked in an estimated $11.1 billion gross revenue so far this year, says market analyst—its ‘biggest-ever six months’

Steam has achieved its strongest financial performance in its history, according to market analysis firm Alinea Analytics. In the first half of 2026, games on the platform generated an estimated $11.1 billion in gross revenue, marking the platform’s highest-ever six-month period.

The growth reflects strong momentum in PC gaming, which is expanding faster than both mobile and console markets. The $11.1 billion figure represents a 14.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, demonstrating robust year-over-year growth. Notably, this performance also exceeds the revenue generated in the second half of 2025, which was bolstered by the traditional holiday shopping season, by 8%.

The analysis comes from Rhys Elliott, head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics. The continued growth underscores Steam’s dominance in the PC gaming space and the overall strength of the PC gaming market as a segment of the broader video game industry. This record-breaking revenue period reflects both the popularity of existing titles on the platform and sustained player engagement.
