Leaked LEGO Donkey Kong Set Honors Nintendo’s Arcade Classic
Nintendo and LEGO are preparing a special Donkey Kong arcade set to commemorate the iconic 1981 arcade game’s 45th anniversary. According to a leak posted on Reddit by user CarterBricks04 on July 10, the set contains 1,367 pieces and is designed to recreate a tabletop arcade machine featuring the first level of the classic game. The set is priced at $200 and is expected to launch in August.
The LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Set represents another entry in the growing collaboration between Nintendo and LEGO, which has previously produced sets based on franchises including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Pokémon. This new set appears to be targeted primarily at adult collectors rather than children, reflecting the nostalgic appeal of the original 1981 arcade game that launched Nintendo as a global household name.
The leak comes less than two months after Nintendo first teased the product in May, though the arcade-themed design wasn’t entirely clear at that time. The leaked product image now confirms that the set will deliver an interactive, buildable recreation of the iconic arcade cabinet, allowing fans to celebrate one of gaming’s most historically significant titles through the LEGO medium.
