Tempest Rising’s elusive third faction will get its own singleplayer campaign as a paid expansion, and you can play the demo right now

Tempest Rising, the well-received Command & Conquer spiritual successor, is expanding its playable roster. The strategy game launched with three competing factions—the GDF, the Tempest Dynasty, and the mysterious Veti—but only the first two were available with full singleplayer campaigns at release. The Veti were restricted to computer-controlled opponents in multiplayer and campaign modes.

Developer Slipgate Ironworks has now officially announced that the Veti will receive their own dedicated singleplayer campaign, fulfilling a long-standing promise to make the faction fully playable. The campaign will be available as a paid expansion rather than free DLC. The studio has confirmed that Veti multiplayer support has been in testing for some time, and the singleplayer content represents the final step in bringing the faction to parity with the GDF and Tempest Dynasty.

Players interested in trying the Veti faction can access a demo immediately, allowing them to experience the new faction before committing to the expansion purchase. This move completes Tempest Rising’s faction lineup, giving players three fully-featured campaigns to experience and expanding the game’s multiplayer options with an additional playable faction.
