Pokémon Go ‘Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration’ event guide
Pokémon Go is celebrating its anniversary with a special “Anniversary Pikachu Celebration” event running from July 13-20. The event brings back costumed Pikachu variants from throughout the game’s entire history, with spawns rotating every few days to introduce new Pikachu designs periodically throughout the event window.
Players can earn rewards through the event’s Go Pass system, which features 30 main ranks plus 30 additional bonus ranks. By engaging in standard Pokémon Go activities—catching Pokémon, hatching eggs, and winning raids—players can level up their Go Pass and unlock costumed Pikachu variants and other rewards. The pass progression is earned through normal gameplay rather than requiring separate challenges.
This limited-time event represents Pokémon Go’s approach to live-service engagement, offering cosmetic variants and seasonal content to maintain player interest. The rotating spawn schedule encourages players to return throughout the week to encounter different Pikachu costumes.
