The film is set for release on July 9, 2027, and marks Maridueña’s return to the character following the 2023 Blue Beetle film. The first film’s commercial underperformance was further complicated by its release during the turbulent transition period between Zack Snyder’s and James Gunn’s competing visions for the DC Universe.
