Halo: Campaign Evolved goes gold, here’s how to get early access

Halo: Campaign Evolved has officially gone gold, marking the completion of development for the upcoming remake. The game is scheduled for release on July 28, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5—notably marking the first time a mainline Halo game will launch on a PlayStation platform.

Players who purchase the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade Edition will gain early access starting July 23, 2026, five days before the standard release date. These premium editions include exclusive digital content such as an art book, cosmetic weapon and armor skins, and a digital game manual.

Campaign Evolved represents a significant departure from the original 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved, reimagining the classic first-person shooter as a top-down remake built in Unreal Engine. This marks the first time the franchise has adopted this perspective and engine combination. While the remake omits the original’s multiplayer functionality, it will introduce new features to enhance the experience for both longtime fans and new players.

The original game launched alongside the Xbox in 2001 and was previously remastered as Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary in 2011, which is currently available through The Master Chief Collection. Campaign Evolved’s arrival on PlayStation represents a historic expansion of the franchise’s platform presence beyond its traditional Xbox home.
