RuneScape revamps its housing customisation with a snazzy looking build mode and the option to make your own neighbourhood with your pals
RuneScape has released a major update to its player-owned housing system, completely revamping how players customize and construct their homes. The new build mode draws direct inspiration from The Sims, providing players with unprecedented creative control over their virtual living spaces.
The centerpiece is a redesigned building mode featuring prefab rooms that players can mix and match freely to create unique configurations. Rather than adhering to preset designs, players now have access to over 650 furniture and decoration items that can be placed anywhere throughout their homes. The modular prefab system allows for flexible room connections, enabling diverse architectural possibilities and personalized layouts.
A significant social element accompanies the individual housing improvements: players can now collaborate with friends to design and build shared neighborhoods together. This expansion transforms housing from a purely solo customization feature into a community-building experience.
The update marks a substantial enhancement to RuneScape’s housing mechanics, introducing life-simulation gameplay elements while preserving the game’s core identity. With extensive decorative options and flexible building systems, players now have significantly greater agency in designing their virtual homes.
