Widow’s Bay season 2 release date could be even sooner than you think
Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay, a comedy horror series set on a cursed New England island town, garnered significant recognition at the 2026 Emmy Awards with 19 nominations. The show earned recognition in major categories including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Matthew Rhys. Supporting cast member Stephen Root also received a nomination for his role as Wyck Crawford, a local believer in the island’s supernatural forces.
As the show anticipates its second season, production timeline updates suggest fans may see new episodes faster than expected. During a recent interview with Polygon, Stephen Root indicated that the production team is planning an earlier start date for season 2 compared to the first season’s late May production launch. Root stated the crew is ‘hoping to start a lot sooner than that so we can get it out sooner,’ suggesting the network is prioritizing accelerated production to capitalize on the show’s Emmy success and audience momentum.
