GoldenEye-inspired FPS Agent 64: Spies Never Die finally locks a release date, and it’s not far away
Agent 64: Spies Never Die, a GoldenEye-inspired first-person shooter developed by solo creator Replicant D6, has officially locked its release date for August 11 on PC via Steam. The announcement concludes a lengthy development cycle marked by multiple delays—the game was originally targeted for 2022—and periods of concerning silence from the developer.
Despite its nostalgic inspiration, the title demonstrates substantial depth beyond retro callback mechanics. Based on hands-on time with the Steam demo, the game features a diverse gameplay toolkit including silenced headshots, melee combat through judo chops, and split-screen multiplayer modes. A new trailer accompanying the release announcement showcases the spy-action gameplay and combat mechanics.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die aims to capture the spirit of the influential GoldenEye 007 while establishing itself as an original indie experience. With the August release now confirmed, the long-anticipated title will finally become available to players after years of development challenges and anticipation.
