Robert Pattinson’s Return in The Batman: Part 2 Delayed Again, Now Arriving 2028

The Batman: Part 2 has been delayed again, with Robert Pattinson’s highly anticipated return as the Dark Knight now scheduled for February 18, 2028. The film was previously set to arrive in October 2027, marking another postponement from its original 2025 target date.

Warner Bros. announced the delay as part of a broader reshuffling of its theatrical slate, driven by extended negotiations surrounding Paramount’s $110 billion acquisition of the studio. To accommodate the release calendar shift, J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond was moved up to October 1, 2027, effectively bumping The Batman: Part 2 from its October slot.

Director Matt Reeves confirmed the news on social media, sharing a camera test video of Pattinson’s Batman in a dramatic shot with snow falling around him. The imagery suggests the sequel will take place during winter, building on Reeves’ previous references to “snow tires” and winter settings for the film.

The repeated delays reflect the broader industry uncertainty surrounding Warner Bros.’ ownership transition to Paramount, which has impacted multiple release schedules across the studio’s film slate. Despite the postponements, the production appears to be moving forward with visual development and testing, with Reeves maintaining creative momentum on the sequel.
