Moonlight Peaks review

PC Gamer reviewed Moonlight Peaks, a vampire-themed farming simulator developed by Little Chicken and published by Xseed Games and Marvelous Europe. Priced at $35/£30, the game follows Dracula’s offspring who leaves their father’s castle to pursue farming in a supernatural town, growing themed crops including “cruelcumbers” and “blood tomatoes.”

The reviewer acknowledges that a “nocturnal farm sim where you’re a vampire” is a compelling hook in a subgenre saturated with same-y, saccharine rural community simulators. The spooky vampire theme provides a refreshing twist on the typical formula. However, the critic argues that Moonlight Peaks fails to capitalize on its unique premise, concluding it “struggles to ever turn that concept into a story with any bite”—a fitting pun given the vampire setting.

Despite the promising concept, the execution reportedly falls short of expectations. The game has achieved Steam Deck verification and was reviewed on PC hardware featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 and RTX 5070 Ti. It does not support multiplayer.
