Pokémon Go ‘Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration’ event guide
Pokémon Go is celebrating its anniversary with the ‘Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration’ event, running from July 13-20. The event brings back a collection of costumed Pikachu variants from throughout the game’s history, with rotating spawns that cycle every few days to introduce new special Pikachu variations during the celebration period.
The event’s centerpiece is a limited-time Go Pass offering 30 ranks, plus an additional 30 bonus ranks for players to unlock. A key feature of the pass system is that players can earn costumed Pikachu variants directly through gameplay progression, making the special Pokémon accessible through regular play without requiring purchases. The event includes various in-game bonuses designed to enhance the anniversary celebration experience.
This event demonstrates Pokémon Go’s ongoing live-service model, which regularly cycles limited-time content and cosmetic variants to keep the player base engaged. The rotating spawn system ensures players have incentives to return throughout the week-long event window as different Pikachu variants appear and disappear.
