Cognition Method, a First-Person Puzzle Game From an Ex-Cyberpunk 2077 Developer, Announced for PC
Team Cognition has announced Cognition Method, a first-person atmospheric science fiction puzzle game arriving on PC on September 1. The three-person indie studio is led by Timur Ozdoev, an environment artist who previously contributed to CD Projekt Red’s acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077.
The game draws visual inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s seminal 1968 science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, combined with influences from the minimalist architecture of renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Cognition Method’s narrative and puzzle design center around The Cube, a mysterious artifact discovered by the crew of a spaceship.
The project represents a notable transition for Ozdoev from large-scale AAA game development to focused indie creation, emphasizing atmospheric storytelling and puzzle-solving mechanics. Team Cognition promises unique, deep, and dramatic storytelling throughout the experience, positioning Cognition Method as a narrative-driven puzzle game aimed at players seeking thoughtful, cerebral gaming experiences.
