These Fortnite Swimsuit Skins Better Not Awaken Anything In Me

Fortnite’s “Hot Bat Summer” event has launched, bringing a DC Comics crossover featuring four new character skins inspired by the publisher’s annual swimsuit covers. The event, which runs for five weeks starting July 16, includes cosmetics for Catwoman, Batman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy—all featuring notably revealing designs that mirror similar trends in games like Marvel Rivals.

The swimsuit skins represent Epic Games’ continued relaxation of its content guidelines, a shift that began in late 2024. The company has increasingly allowed male character skins to display nipples and female skins to showcase more cleavage and physics-based animations. However, the Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn skins have been restricted to Fortnite modes rated T for Teen (ages 13+), suggesting some moderation of the approach.

Beyond cosmetics, the event adds substantial new gameplay content, including the return of the Batman Grapnel Gun, a drivable Batmobile vehicle, a new Bat Cave point of interest, and themed quest rewards that offer free cosmetics. These additions extend the crossover beyond purely cosmetic updates, providing new mechanics and exploration opportunities for players.

The event reflects Epic’s ongoing strategy of high-profile licensed collaborations and willingness to embrace increasingly mature character designs for its live-service game, a notable shift from its earlier reputation for modest cosmetics.
