Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Surpasses 6 Million Consoles Sold

Japan’s latest video game sales charts, compiled by Famitsu, show strong performance across Nintendo’s platforms. Rhythm Heaven Groove maintains its position at the top of the boxed game charts, selling an additional 126,073 copies this week to bring its running total past 500,000 units sold. The rhythm-based title continues to demonstrate sustained commercial success in the Japanese market.

Magical Girl Witch Trials enters the charts at number two in its debut week, indicating strong initial reception for the new release. Meanwhile, Digimon Story Time Stranger’s ports for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 are seeing notable chart placement, landing at positions eight and six respectively, suggesting that multi-platform releases continue to perform well in the region.

The data coincides with Nintendo Switch 2’s growing market penetration in Japan, having now surpassed 6 million consoles sold. This milestone reflects the platform’s strong adoption rate and underscores the continued commercial viability of Nintendo’s console offerings in one of the world’s most important gaming markets.
