God Of War Laufey Star Doesn’t Care What The Trolls Think: “I Just Know It’s Great”

God of War Laufey, announced during Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, marks a significant departure for the franchise as the first mainline entry to feature someone other than Kratos as the playable protagonist. Instead, players will control Faye, Kratos’ late wife and Atreus’ mother, a powerful warrior and magic wielder who finds herself in the afterlife. Developer Santa Monica Studio’s announcement of this new creative direction sparked mixed reactions, with some players expressing enthusiasm while others criticized various elements, including the game’s new cube sidekick voiced by Jack Quaid of The Boys.

The negative response has been particularly directed at the game’s star, actress Deborah Ann Woll, who provides both the likeness and voice acting for Faye. However, Woll has remained unfazed by the online criticism. In response to the hate directed at her and the project, she stated she feels “totally unbothered” and confident in the game’s quality. The actress attributed her resilience partly to her choice not to engage with social media, which has insulated her from much of the negativity. Woll emphasized her confidence in the project, saying “I just know it’s great,” suggesting she believes the quality of the final product will vindicate the creative direction.
