Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem to be taken offline in October 2026

Scopely has announced that Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, its free-to-play mobile squad battler developed by Aquiris Game Studio, will shut down on October 15, 2026. The game will be removed from app stores on August 23, 2026, with social channels being deactivated on August 16.

The decision comes after years of declining revenue for the title. According to AppMagic’s estimates, the game generated over $106 million in lifetime in-app purchase revenue, with 62% coming from US players. However, IAP revenue began declining in August 2021 and continued dropping steadily, currently earning approximately $350,000 per month as of January 2026.

Since its launch in 2018, Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem accumulated just over 41 million lifetime downloads, with 19% of installs from the United States, followed by Brazil (10%), Mexico (8%), and Russia (6%).

In an emotional farewell message, Scopely acknowledged the community built around the game, stating that for years the community “built alliances that turned into real friendships, fought through wars together, and enjoyed plenty of laughs along the way.” Players can continue making in-game purchases until August 16 and may contact support until the October 15 shutdown date. The closure exemplifies the live-service gaming industry’s ongoing challenge in maintaining long-term player engagement and monetization.
