Mario Tennis Fever gets Super Mario Galaxy-themed 1.1.0 update
Nintendo has released a 1.1.0 update for Mario Tennis Fever introducing Super Mario Galaxy-themed content to the Switch 2 sports title. The update features a new Fever Racket called the Black Hole Racket, which creates a black hole at the point of impact during Fever Shots. The black hole generates a gravitational effect that pulls nearby players toward it, dealing damage to those who get too close. Players whose HP is depleted by the effect are removed from play.
The update also introduces the Galaxy Court, a new playable arena set on a planetoid from Super Mario Galaxy. The court is characterized by slower ball speeds and higher bounce mechanics, creating a unique gameplay environment. To accompany the new venue, Nintendo has added a themed Special Match designed specifically for this court.
Additionally, the update implements a GameChat feature that allows players without a copy of Mario Tennis Fever to participate in online matches, potentially expanding the game’s multiplayer accessibility.
