New Saber Exec Moves to Reassure Fan Worried About Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Monetization, Ends Up Suggesting a 2028 Launch Window That May Even Include the KOTOR Remake
Saber Interactive’s newly appointed Chief Business Officer Steve Allison, formerly of Epic Games Store, has provided updates on several of the studio’s projects while addressing monetization concerns from the gaming community.
In a Reddit response verified by Saber, Allison commented on the monetization strategy for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and future installments, including Space Marine 3, which is currently in development. His appointment had initially sparked worry among Space Marine fans who feared his background in digital distribution might lead to more aggressive monetization tactics.
Beyond the Space Marine franchise, Allison also offered a release window for the long-awaited Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, suggesting it will “hopefully” launch in 2028. The KOTOR remake has been in development at Saber Interactive for years, with the studio offering periodic updates to confirm the project remains active. Allison’s statement represents one of the first concrete timeline indications for the remake, though the use of “hopefully” suggests the 2028 date should be viewed as aspirational rather than guaranteed.
Allison also briefly acknowledged Saber’s John Wick game project during his comments. With multiple major titles in various stages of development, the appointment signals a focus on managing the studio’s portfolio and business strategy.
