Shiny power hours in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is introducing “Shiny power hours” this weekend, a limited-time event featuring increased drop rates for special cosmetic variants and exclusive starting loadouts. The event runs Saturday, July 18 from 2-4 p.m. EDT, with an additional session scheduled for later in the weekend.
During Shiny power hours, Batman-themed sprite variants—including Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil editions—appear at significantly elevated rates. All players begin each match automatically equipped with a Batman Grapnel Gun and a self-revive device, providing immediate combat advantages. The event also brings back the Sprite Hunt rift anomaly and guarantees the Battle Bus Victory Royale rift anomaly, adding dynamic environmental mechanics that modify standard Battle Royale gameplay.
The event exemplifies Epic Games’ seasonal content strategy, using limited-time events with exclusive cosmetics and gameplay modifiers to drive player engagement. The Batman crossover continues Fortnite’s established pattern of licensed character collaborations.
