Hytale releases massive preview of upcoming content including 22 videos and 37 new images

Hytale, the sandbox RPG that nearly died after a decade in development at Riot Games, has released a massive preview of upcoming content featuring 22 videos, 37 new images, and approximately 4,000 words of development updates. The game launched into early access in January, generating such substantial preorder revenue that it secured funding for two additional years of development.

Creator Simon Collins-Laflamme purchased the rights after Riot Games canceled the project, allowing development to continue independently. Despite the strong financial launch, the game remains in very early stages. Collins-Laflamme acknowledged in November 2025 that the title “isn’t good yet,” cautioning players against expectations given the incomplete feature set. The extensive content preview demonstrates the development team’s commitment to keeping the community informed as the project progresses toward a more complete state.
